Examine the manufacturer's Guidelines right before you put in any ducting. For instance, flex ducting just isn't recommended to be used with some dryers. The hoses that run amongst the clothes dryer and the vent are generally four inches in diameter, but those on bigger dryers can be as wide as 6 inches. Join the hose towards the vent hood.
